UNITED NATIONS SECTION 38.3

UN38.3 refers to the United Nations specifically formulated for the transport of dangerous goods "UN Transport of Dangerous Goods Manual of Tests and Criteria," Part 3 38.3 paragraph, which requires pre-shipment of lithium batteries must be passed below test:

Test 1. Altitude simulation test

Test 2. Thermal test

Test 3. Vibration test

Test 4. Shock test

Test 5. External short circuit test

Test 6. Impact / Crush test

Test 7. Overcharge test

Test 8. Forced discharge test

In order to ensure safe transport of lithium batteries, the section UN38.3 presents the procedures to be followed for the classification of lithium metal and lithium ion cells and batteries.
